Henri van Rooyen Executive Chairman
Mr. van Rooyen was previously Talon Metals’ Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Talon, he was a member of Tau Capital, a private investment and advisory services company, where he was primarily responsible for the new business evaluation process and the implementation of exploration and development programs for mineral projects in countries across Africa and South America. Prior to joining Tau Capital, Mr. van Rooyen was President & CEO of Groupman, a private company that built the largest silica mine in South Africa, as well as one of South Africa's largest offshore diamond exploration projects.
Jack Lundin
Mr. Lundin is President and Chief Executive Officer of Lundin Mining and a member of the Board of Directors. Since becoming President in 2022 and CEO in December 2023, he has led a significant portfolio transformation, including the acquisitions of the Caserones Mine and Filo Corp., the latter resulting in the formation of Vicuña Corp. and a sharpened strategic focus on copper through the divestiture of the company’s European assets. Previously, Mr. Lundin served as President and CEO of Bluestone Resources. Prior to Bluestone, he played a key role in the development of Lundin Gold’s Fruta del Norte mine in Ecuador, where he served as Project Superintendent. Earlier in his career, he worked as an economic analyst with Lundin Energy and held field roles on exploration projects across Canada, Russia, Ireland, and Portugal.
Juan Andres Morel
Mr. Morel is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Lundin Mining, joining in 2022. He oversees Lundin Mining's global operations and project development, bringing more than 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Lundin Mining, Mr. Morel served at General Manager of Mine Operations at BHP's Escondida mine in Chile. He also held senior roles at Antofagasta Minerals, including Executive Director of the company's international office, Head of Operations at Los Pelambres, General Manager of El Tesoro, and Chief of Technical Services. Earlier in his career, Mr. Morel spent seven years at CODELCO in strategic and technical leadership positions.
Gregory S. Kinross 1, 2 (Chair)
Mr. Kinross was formerly the President of CIC Energy Corp. which was sold to Jindal Steel & Power in September 2012. He is also the former President and CEO of Tau Capital Corp, a private investment and advisory services company. From 1998 to 2004 Mr. Kinross was involved in private equity and investment banking. Prior to 1998, Mr. Kinross was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, South Africa. Mr. Kinross, a Chartered Accountant, received a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (With Distinction), as well as a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree (With Distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand
David L. Deisley
Mr. Deisley was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of NOVAGOLD Resources Inc., responsible for all aspects of the company’s legal governance and corporate affairs from November 2012 to December 2018. Mr. Deisley has over 25 years of experience in the mining industry in the Americas, with an extensive track record in project permitting, corporate social responsibility, mergers and acquisitions and corporate development. In addition, Mr. Deisley is regarded as a human rights expert relative to resource projects and local populations. Mr. Deisley received his Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
John D. Kaplan 1, 2 (Chair)
For more than 20 years, Mr. Kaplan has been President of Runnymede Development Corporation Limited, a diversified real estate company active in the Greater Toronto Area. Under Mr. Kaplan’s leadership, Runnymede has developed and built numerous landmark communities, comprising more than 10,000 homes, as well as several million square feet of retail and industrial space. In particular, the Ajax, Ontario community of 1100 homes, known as "Lakeside", was awarded the Canadian Home Builder’s Association Community of the Year in 2001. In addition, Mr. Kaplan is a Director of Metropia and Chairman of Trademark Communities. Mr. Kaplan has studied at Upper Canada College in Toronto, McGill University in Montreal and the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
David E. Singer 1, 2
Mr. Singer is an attorney and business consultant who has served as a Senior Partner of Macro Consultants LLC (acquired by Savills, NA), which provides strategic planning and project management services to multinational companies, many of them publicly held. He oversaw both the legal and finance departments. He began his career at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and Yigal Arnon & Co., following which he managed his own general practice, with a particular focus on corporate, real estate and the legal needs of several multinational corporations. Mr. Singer has been admitted to practice law in both New York and Israel. He received his J.D. from Cardozo School of Law (Magna Cum Laude).
Frank David Wheatley
Mr. Wheatley has for the past 35 years, been a senior executive and independent director of a number of Canadian public mining companies operating globally in precious, base and industrial metals. Mr. Wheatley was an independent director of Endeavour Mining, Teranga Gold Corporation and Talison Lithium Limited and has served as the CEO of Yellowhead Mining Inc. and Karnalyte Resources Inc. Mr. Wheatley has extensive domestic and international experience with development and operating gold, copper, lithium and potash companies, including mergers and acquisitions, project financing, project development, and environmental permitting in accordance with all international best practice, environmental and corporate social responsibility standards.
Arne H Frandsen
Mr. Frandsen is the Chief Executive and Co-Managing Partner of The Pallinghurst Group. Mr. Frandsen holds an LL.B and Master of Law from the University of Copenhagen. Mr. Frandsen spent more than 10 years as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan in London, New York and Johannesburg, providing strategic advice and structuring mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. He left investment banking to become the Chief Executive Officer of Incwala Resources, a South African platinum mining company, a role he stayed in until 2006, when he became one of the founders of The Pallinghurst Group. Mr. Frandsen has been instrumental in guiding Pallinghurst’s investment focus on materials used for energy transformation and decarbonisation. He is also currently the Chairman of Sebidelo Platinum Mines and Nouveau Monde Graphite, as well as a director of Nemaska Lithium.
